Roles and Access

Understand your Pulse role, what it lets you do, and how roles are changed.

Your role controls which parts of Pulse you can see and what actions you can take. You may hear this described as your access profile, but Pulse calls it a role.

A role belongs to your organisation.

Find Your Current Role

  1. Open Settings from the sidebar
  2. Select Members
  3. Find the row marked You
  4. Read your role in the Role column

The sidebar automatically hides sections your current role cannot access. If a colleague can see a page that you cannot, compare your roles on the Members page.

All roles can open Settings, view the organisation and its Members list, manage their own account, and use the Help Centre.

Owner and Admin

Owners and Admins have the same access to day-to-day broker or builder features. Owner is the highest organisation role, but ownership transfer and organisation deletion are not self-service in the partner portal. Use the contact form for either request.

Owners and Admins can change eligible colleagues' roles from SettingsMembers. They cannot assign the Owner role from the role menu.

Change Your Role

You cannot change your own role.

Ask an Owner or Admin in your organisation to:

  1. Open SettingsMembers
  2. Open the three-dot menu beside your name
  3. Select Update Role
  4. Choose an available role and confirm

Broker organisations can assign Admin, Broker Client Advisor, or Broker Marketing. Builder organisations can assign Admin, Builder Sales Admin, or Builder Marketing.

If no suitable administrator is available, use the contact form.

Why Access May Differ

Access can differ because:

  • You and a colleague have different roles
  • A feature is available only to brokers or only to builders
  • Some records are limited to the contact linked to you, such as LoAs for Client Advisor and Builder Sales Admin roles
  • An organisation or product may require separate approval

If your role looks correct but an expected section is missing, sign out and back in, then use the contact form if the problem continues.
