Complete your Own New training to get certified on each product.

Complete product-specific training modules to understand Own New products and advise clients accurately. Each module covers a specific proposition and awards a certificate upon successful completion.

Important: Completing any training module qualifies you as a certified Own New broker. Until you pass at least one quiz, builders will not be able to select you when submitting Letters of Approval (LoAs). You will appear as "Training required" in the broker search.

Training is organised by product. Current modules:

  1. Log in to your broker account
  2. Navigate to Training in the sidebar
  3. You'll see all available modules with your progress

How Training Works

Module Content

Each training module contains:

  • PDF Training Guide — Comprehensive product documentation you can read and download
  • Video (optional) — Explainer video walking through key concepts
  • Quiz — Test your knowledge to earn your certificate

Quizzes

Each module has a quiz to test your understanding:

  • Multiple choice questions based on the training materials
  • Questions are randomised — question order and answer options shuffle each attempt
  • Pass mark: 90% — ensuring thorough product knowledge
  • Unlimited attempts by default (some modules may limit attempts)
  • Best score tracked — your highest score is recorded

Certificates

When you pass a quiz, you receive a certificate:

  • Unique Certificate ID — Format: ON-RR-2026-ABC123 (product code + year + unique ID)
  • Downloadable PDF — Professional certificate with Own New branding
  • Verifiable — Lenders can verify your certificate using the certificate ID
  • Proof of competency — Some lenders may require certificates as evidence of training

Rate Reducer Training

Learn everything about the Rate Reducer product:

  • What is Rate Reducer and how does it work?
  • How do builder contributions reduce mortgage rates?
  • LTV bands and eligibility criteria
  • Lender partnerships and requirements

Getting Certified

For each product module:

  1. Review the PDF training materials
  2. Watch the video (if available)
  3. Take the quiz (90% required to pass)
  4. Download your certificate

Your certificates are stored in your account and can be downloaded at any time.

Certificate Verification

Lenders may ask to verify your training. Certificates can be verified:

  • By Certificate ID — Share your certificate ID (e.g., ON-RR-2026-ABC123)
  • Verification URL — Each certificate has a verification link
  • PDF Download — Provide the downloaded certificate PDF

Tips for Success

  1. Read the PDF guide thoroughly — It contains all the information needed for the quiz
  2. Watch the video — Visual explanations help reinforce concepts
  3. Take notes — Keep reference material handy
  4. Don't rush — Understanding is more important than speed
  5. Review before retaking — If you don't pass, revisit the materials

  • Check your internet connection

  • Check your browser allows PDF viewing

Video Won't Play

  • Check your browser is up to date
  • Try a different browser
  • Check your internet speed

Certificate Not Appearing

  • Ensure you scored 90% or higher
  • Refresh the page
  • Check the Certificates section in your training overview

Team Training

If you manage a team:

  • Each broker needs their own account
  • Training progress is individual
  • Each person earns their own certificates
  • Track team progress in the admin section
